bbi-biotech develops, manufactures and distributes devices for the biotechnology branch.
We focus on sterile sampling systems for bioreactors. Devices by bbi-biotech are suitable for connecting fermentors and bioreactors with modern analysis equipment. The first serial product in this area is bioPROBE MK1, a fully automated sampling system for fluid media. It is sterile, without dead volume and enables the transfer of samples from a bioreactor to a number of analysis apparatuses.
The devices work around the clock and can be operated autarkic or in a remote mode, controlled by a superior process control system. Times and volumes of the samples are optimally adaptable to the desired analysis. Offline analysis is nearly reduced to analysis time, which enables the direct use of the determined parameters for process control. This allows for new methods of process control and quality assurance of biotechnological processes in the sense of the PAT-initiative of the FDA.
Due to the flexibility of the disposable sampling probe, our system can be used with every reactor dimension. Your investments in expensive analysis systems get an entirely new value for your process development and quality control.
Disposable components for bioreactors/fermentors
In addition, bbi-biotech develops components – especially disposable ones – for the preparation of a new generation of fermentors and bioreactors. Our sampling system is equipped with a disposable sampling probe, which is gamma-sterilised, adaptable and applicable for all types of reactors: glass, stainless steel and bags. We offer a direct fitting version, as well as a bypass system for bags.
Another emphasis of bbi-biotech lies in the development of connectors that combine pre-sterilised plastic components with in-situ-sterilised units, which are applicable for up- and downstreaming.
