CryoStem completes stem cell processing for Personal Cell Sciences

PBR Staff Writer Published 08 February 2012

American CryoStem has completed providing stem cell processing services for Personal Cell Sciences, a manufacturer of anti-aging skin care products.

The CryoStem has acquired adipose tissue samples utilizing a mini-liposuction procedure.

A total of sixty milliliters (approximately 2 fluid ounces) of adipose tissue was collected in the physician's office and sent to CRYO's laboratory for processing.

After processing, the resulting stromal vascular fraction (SVF) was forwarded to the Personal Cell Sciences laboratory for proprietary formulation for patient specific products.

The study evaluates the regenerative function of a conditioned medium obtained from each participant's adipose (fat tissue) derived mesenchymal stem cells.

The medium's ability to promote the production or secretion of collagen, elastin and fibronectin related to skin wound healing, is also evaluated.

CryoStem CEO John Arnone said CRYO's tissue culture media and aseptic adipose tissue processing methodology allows customers to store a clinical grade sample of their own stem cells for future use.
